Ministry-Intern

SESSION I  - July 8-20, 2012

SESSION II - July 15-27, 2012

The Ministry Internship is a two-week program for high school graduates ages 17-20 that blends classroom instruction and hands-on experience to prepare young people for future service.

Our goal is to help interns understand not only what we do but also why we do it (our camp philosophy). Individuals who recognize the importance of this Christ-centered philosophy of ministry will be a greater help in any ministry endeavor, especially within his or her local church.

Ministry Internship Information

In addition to the revival services held each evening, learn from daily observation and classroom instruction regarding several subjects, including:

How to...

  • Present the Gospel clearly in any situation
  • Be a successful camp counselor
  • Gain respect from young people
  • Help a youth group
  • Counsel during an invitation
  • Know God’s will for your life

Our teachers will bring years of ministry experience to each class session. Interns will come away from class times with practical insight on numerous ministry scenarios specific to camp, youth work, soul winning, and other venues of local church ministry.

Experience hands-on involvement in one of our three camp programs. Depending on availability and interest, interns can choose to serve their second week in either the Youth (ages 12-19), Junior (ages 8-12), or Deaf (ages 9-19) Camp programs. Aspects include:

  • Ministering directly to teen, junior, or deaf campers
  • Working side-by-side with youth leaders and counselors
  • Helping with camp activities
  • Hearing straightforward, Bible preaching
  • Assisting in cabin leadership

Involved in the day to day work of a counselor, interns will get to see firsthand the way God uses a week of camp in the life of a young person and the way God uses people to accomplish that work.

Applicants are only responsible for $100 of the total cost to the Ranch. This fee is broken up into two payments: a non-refundable reservation fee of $50 is due upon acceptance to the program. Then a supply fee of $50 (shirt, course notebook, handouts, etc.) is due upon arrival to the Ranch.

The actual cost of the Ministry Internship to the Ranch is $450; however, each accepted applicant need pay only $100 (includes $50 reservation fee and $50 supply fee).

The Bill Rice Ranch will actively seek the remaining $350 through a scholarship provided by interested donors. If your church or someone you know can help with part or all of this scholarship need, please contact us at 615-893-2767, ext. 135.
